i loved the clouds in this picture, but wasn't really happy with the way the island or the tree came out and was wondering if it might look better if I just cropped it to show the sky, sort of an abstract cloud study. Any thoughts?

What a stunning sunset. However, I don't think it's the sunset alone that really makes this wondeful. It's the island and tree that really ground the picture, I think. I wouldn't crop them out.

This is incredible! The sky would be a nice shot by itself, but the silhouettes of the trees are so beautiful! I think maybe the reason you are unsatisfied is that the trees do not take up enough space in the image. That's the only thing that I could criticize, otherwise it's amazing!

thanks. you probably have a point about the physical elements not taking up enough fo the frame. I think I was just loathe to cover any of the crazy sky.
